Installing QRlogix Software

Before You Begin

Important: Administrative rights are required to install QRlogix Software and its drivers. Make sure you have admin access before proceeding.

System Requirements

Determining Your Windows Version

Before downloading, you need to know whether your system is 32-bit or 64-bit:

  1. Open Windows Control Panel
  2. Navigate to System Information → About
  3. Look for System Type

Download Instructions

  1. Follow the link in your welcome email to register your license
  2. Choose the correct version for your operating system:
  • 64-bit (x64) - Most modern systems
  • 32-bit (x86) - Older systems

Installation Steps

Step 1: Launch the Installer

Once the application has been successfully downloaded, double-click the installation file to begin.

Step 2: Start Installation

The installer window will appear. Click Yes, then Next to begin the installation.

Step 3: Select Installation Packages

Choose which components to install:

  • QRlogix Desktop Application (Required) - Main software for label design and printing
  • File Drop Service (Optional) - Only needed if you're printing from TXT or CSV files saved to a shared folder (e.g., from LIS or LIMS systems)

Step 4: Confirm Installation Paths

Confirm the file installation path for the application. The default location is recommended for most users.

If you're installing both the desktop application and File Drop, you'll need to confirm the path for both applications.

Step 5: Complete Installation

Click Next to confirm and begin installation. The installation process will take a few minutes to complete.

Step 6: Launch the Software

Once installation completes, an icon for QRlogix Software will appear on your computer's desktop.

Click the icon to launch the software for the first time.

About File Drop Installation

The File Drop download is ONLY NEEDED for automation scenarios where you print from TXT or CSV files saved to a shared folder, such as:

  • Printing from Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
  • Printing from Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Automated workflows from other software

If you don't have these requirements, you should not download and install the File Drop application.

Troubleshooting

Installation Won't Start

  • Ensure you have administrative rights
  • Try running the installer as administrator (right-click → Run as Administrator)

Missing System Requirements

  • Verify your Windows version is supported
  • Check available disk space (at least 500MB free recommended)
